True Oldies Channel on KRBE HD2
« on: June 15, 2012, 07:21:22 PM »

Flipping through the dial a few minutes ago and found True Oldies on 104.1 HD2. Why would they do this?

"why did they do this?"       So the nine people who still have HD radios will have something to search for.

Looking at the ratings for KRBE, they really should put this on the main channel for KRBE. I can't believe the ratings for a major station like that can be so low, unless it is a misprint.

KRBE should pick up the format AAA that KHJK at 103.7 is currently using.  That's wishful thinking though.

Yes, it's an intentionally misleading misprint on Arbitron's part.  They no longer publicly share numbers for non-subscribing stations and KRBE doesn't subscribe.

Why? KRBE makes exponentially more money.

WOW!  There are so may knowledgeable users in this group.  This makes me wonder, what are the REAL numbers for KRBE and they are low enough, would they be willing to do a format change.  It would cost them almost nothing to run the True Oldies Channel, because I believe they (Cumulus Media) owns it.  The have had good success with it in Chicago when they ran it on WLS-FM.

No idea what the numbers are now, but the last time there were any public numbers for KRBE, it was cuming well over a million.  I suspect not much has changed, and I also suspect there is zero chance of a format change at 104.1.
