Thanks much.  I'll give it a go.

I'll ask tomorrow when I go in to work if we broadcast a time signal.  I work at three of the Nashville stations.

OK, here's the scoop on TV time signals if anyone's interested.  In the old analog TV days some stations did broadcast a signal that devices could set time to.  My VHS deck found that signal on our local PBS station.

Now in the digital age the station I work at does send out a time signal, but it's part of the Nielsen Rating system for the boxes that ID what program is on and what time it is on.  Some TVs will display that program info along with the current time.  My two-year old LG does that.  But that signal can not be found by external devices, like desk or wall clocks.  My chief engineer is not aware of any way to send a time signal in the new digital system like in the old analog system.

Sam's Club sells a $25 wall clock that finds time from GPS satellites.  I think it's called SkyScan or something similar.  I saw that in a local radio station (WSGI-AM).

I'm late to this movie, but count me in the group that sets a clock fast....usually 3 or 4 minutes.  But I only do it in a vehicle that I'm using for business appointments.

Otherwise, down through the years I've typically used either WWV or CHU to set clocks/watches.

(303) 499-7111

(auto-answers & plays WWV audio over the phone.  Do note that if you use a digital phone, there will be network delays..)

I can listen to WWV endlessly.

Wish they had a webstream, with or without delays.

It's the ultimate format.  The leap seconds are the "oh wow" songs.

A fellow DJ I worked with made an audition tape back in the 70s for WWV, as Lester Moran and the Cadillac Cowboys.  Funniest thing I have ever heard.  I've been bugging him for years to find it.

My mom and I bought similar Sony clock radios several months ago. She bought hers at Target, I bought mine at Walmart. I use mine to wake up. She uses hers for a radio in the kitchen. We're both having the same problem with it. These radios set the clock automatically when you plug them in, however we both noticed that the clock is actually around two minutes fast compared to other clocks that set themselves such as the ones on our cell phones and the ones on our cable boxes. Does anyone else have one of those radios where the clock sets automatically and is anyone else having the same problem with the clock being fast?

My Magnavox DVD recorders do the same thing with the clock.

You should have gone to a thrift store and bought an 80s GE AM/FM dual alarm cassette alarm clock.  Louder than those cheap POS alarm clocks you find today brand new.

I turn my all the way up and wake up to Bob or Austin's Greatest Hits.  Because Bob doesn't have a morning show, and Bo Chase doesn't talk too much like the other stations (95.5, 94.7, etc.) If I set it to talk I will sleep, if I set it to Hip Hop, Top 40, or CHR chances are I will turn it off and go back to sleep.

I work in the afternoons (second shift) so I have it set to 9 AM or 10 AM on some days.  On the weekdays Bob does his 9 @ 9, and if it is from the 70s I will have it a blasting or a good year in the 80s.

I also have MP3 Alarm Clock which wakes you up to any MP3 of your choice.
