Sangean HDR 1 HD -FM Antenna Question
« on: June 18, 2012, 06:51:18 AM »

I'm getting the Sangean HDR 1 HD soon, I was wondering since I  see in photos that is only has a telescope rod FM antenna, does it also have an external connection for FM antenna ?

It's a screw-on dipole antenna.  The external connection is there (as like the Radiosophy HD100).  Look at the pictures on Amazon to be sure.

Yes - the radio appears to be a cousin to their component tuner, which easily does 300 mile reception over flat terrain on full class C stations using a 10 element yagi antenna.  HD reception will not be nearly that good, although I have gotten occasional lock on Dallas HD stations from Houston.

Yes - it has the external FM antenna connection.  All you do is take the whip antenna off, exposing the connector.
