Wondering why...wondering why we can't get the audience...that's out there????Hmmmmmmmm?HuhHuh??  I wonder why we can't get the numbers that the two Countrys have?  Answer: You are still following the whims of the labels, that are telling you that this________is a Country Crossover record.  MAGIC is still granting airplay to a stack of worthless Country Crossover records.  This causes format confusion, and solidifies their format, as your airplay backs it up.  Each book they have 9, and you have a 5.  As I have said before, if they are marketed as a Country artist, no AC airplay.  Aside from that, the playlist is Burnt!..."We Are Fam-il-lee", "Your Smiling Face",
"Margaritaville"...give these a rest, and add something else.
The problem is your playlist, not your Air Talent.  John & Lauren did not fail, the playlist failed them!  Fire the Consultant!
...or hire me, and I'll Throwwwwwwwww him out!

Who is doing what at WSPA-FM now?  According to Lee Alexander on their Facebook page, Stacie is back to afternoons, and I guess Lee is back to mid-days instead of noon to 7, and Greg McKinney (formerly of Lite Rock 98.9 late 90s, then MY early-mid 00s) is doing mornings, I don't know if he is fill-in or permanent, but good to hear.

This station has potential, but until they get programming/management that is knowledgeable about the format, it will continue to struggle.

A good question, regardless..., is...Do They Know?  Does the Management, and Programmer of WSPA-FM actually know, and understand how far down in the crack their station is?  Are you that broke?  You fired your Morning team, without having anyone(!) else on deck.  Then, overwork Lee & Stacie.  I've heard Greg McKinney on some.  He too wants a good paycheck.  Put him on, and Pay him!  He's certainly better suited than his fill-ins at WROQ.  He's really not a Rock guy...he drinks diet beer, and listens to Jazz.  Wait!...he's still a damn good Radio Announcer, per ME!  If he was swiggin' wine coolers, and his ipod was full of Yanni, we'd have to question his manhood, and of coarse...then...we would have beat him...fifty lashes, with THE CAT OF NINE SHARES!
What I don't understand is this: If Greg is available to work, and you have a shift (more than)available, then,...as I said...Put him on, and Pay him!
Again, I ask...ARE YOU THAT BROKE?

The issue with this station is that the music they play is so stale and poorly selected.  It's been our "background music" for years and they never change ANYTHING these days.  I understand that familiarity is important in the AC format, but they are beyond stale.  "Electric Aveneue"..."Cruel Summer"..."Mambo 5"..."I'm Yours"...over and over.  It sounds like they have a playlist of about 200 songs, made it a year ago, and have run it on shuffle since.  The issues here lie with the music selection.  The liners are decent, the personalities are good (the lineup is pretty good) but if what's between those isn't any good, you won't succeed.  You have to freshen and update on occasion.  From everything I've seen/heard/read, Entercom does a good job with their AC stations in other markets, why is this one allowed to slide so?

AC used to be a huge format in this market...it still could be if somebody would open their eyes.  Look at its continued success in other mid-sized markets in the south.  Programming is key but they apparently don't want to invest in it.

First off, I completely agree with Carolinaradio.  Please read his dead-on post.  Collectively, we, and I'm sure that there are more...agree that MAGIC's problem is not Air Staff, but their Awww-ful, Shallow, Unmanaged playlist.  The problem is understood, but why doesn't Management do something to solve it?  They have to be aware of the fact that they are...LOOOOOOO-SING THEIR ASS!
Always, without fail, the overhead Monster shows-up once a month, wearing a t-shirt that states clearly: "Payroll Is Due On Thursday!".
