Murphy in the morning is gone!
« on: June 22, 2012, 03:23:04 PM »

Just heard from a reliable source that 1075kzl's the Murphy in the morning show became the "...in the morning show" after today's show.  Looks like Dick Broadcasting is living up to its name again!  Good Luck Jack, enjoy your time on the beach, you've earned it big buddy!

Murfee's shelf life expired 8 years ago.  The dude is pushing 60 and he's talking to 20-somethings.  The stains on his mattress are older than his listeners.  If it's true that he's gone, this calls for a party, the kind of party where we dance on Murphie's grave.  That wheezing old hack has been stealing his paycheck from the Dicks for half a generation.  I would say that he has been phoning it in, but that would be a gross insult to Mr. Alexander Graham Bell.  Radio has been dead for years.  Murffy just hasn't noticed the stench of decay yet.  Now he's wearing it like a beard.

Look on the bright side, Jaque Murphy:  You can now join Scott Yost in his weekly quest to find young nubile skanks to roofie up and photog in the weekly Rhino rag.

It will be very interesting to see who the replacement will, since DBC is local.

All mentions of Jack have been removed from the KZL Facebook and website.  As of now, their morning show is listed as "the KZL Morning Show with Jared, Katie and Whitney".  I wonder if maybe they're going to continue with the same cast, minus Jack, or go in a totally different direction?

yeah, looks like if you Google Murphy in the morning, it still brings up several pages and links, the Murphy graphic is still on the website.  You got to wonder if its a late April Fools joke or prank to get people talking.  Then in a few weeks, management steps in with a major announcement and says "After the thousands of emails, tweets and phonecalls (from the prize pigs), we decided to keep Murphy on the air!   I've seen this prank done before to shake up the market.  They have done this type of prank before.
So...Murphys contract was probably up, ratings are down, (cue MC Hammer) STOP! Budget cut time!!! (cue the hispanic music) NEW FORMAT!  it's 107.5 Pedro Radio! When you call the request line is says "For English, Press Uno!"   Anyway, they'll go up against 101.1  Muchos Tacos Senor!
