Dave-FM PD Let Go
« on: June 27, 2012, 09:48:36 AM »

Rodney Ho is reporting that Dave-FM Program Director Scott Jameson has been let go.

I wonder if still another PD is going to be hired to resurrect the station.  After all this time, it seems obvious that Dave-FM needs an entire new identity and sound.  I don't think people know what the station stands for at this point.

How is swapping out PD's going to change anything?

and all 100 listeners are pulling out their crying towels...seriously, CBS has a golden opportunity to make this a legend, on the order of K EARTH 101, or their flagship CBS101 in NYC. Why can't ATLANTA have a station this grand? And please don't tell me no one wants to hear "that kind of music"- it works in market 1 and 2, why not here?

oh I no, it will probably become another talking stick toilet bowl, or washout machine of the same 200 songs of whatever rock/CHR/urban genre variant. Nevermind, back to Internet radio and Pandora...

As a 43-year-old, I've been loving these new wave weekends they've been doing! Change the name back to Z-93 (which is still how I think about it after all these years) and keep that new wave programming. That would be my preference. (But I know I'm no one's target demographic.)

If K Earth or WCBS FM doesn't "test well", KLUV in Dallas might be the answer.  IMHO What I "feel" as a slight difference verses NYC & LA in presentation would work in Atlanta.  IIRC the Citadel guy who use to do music for WLS FM was cut lose when Cumulus took over.  CBS would do good to hire him for either Chicago or Atlanta.

Is 92.9FM going toward a "spoken word" format? Competition for 106.7, Sports, or News/Talk?

CBS radio news is in a deal with WSB.  Don't know how long the affiliation deal is for but most of these things are for at least a year.  CBS and Cumulus have a "distribution deal" for CBS Sports.  That eliminates sports.  What other kind of spoken word format would 92.9 run?
