KKMY moved to the KBTV/KIOC site 2 years ago and has always been a 100KW station it just went from a Class C2 to a Class C1. It is at 1000 feet up and is 20 miles closer to Beaumont.

If it was a C2, it couldn't have always been a 100kw station.  C2's are maxed out at 50 (less if the transmitter goes above a certain point).

It is presently a class C1 and it was a C1 my finger slipped but the old Orange tower was only 450 feet high, and it (topographically) was in a lower elevation than the current tower. I made a rough estimate of the tower height of the current tower it is on the new KBTV digital tower at 764 feet. The tower had to be be beefed up to allow for that antenna. But it was and still is 100KW. It was on a 10 bay antenna at Orange and it has a brand new 10 bay at KBTV.

I remember where the old tower was, barely peeking above the trees next to I-10.

I suppose this is why the 103.3 frequency was used in the first place, although I never had a problem picking up KKMY in Beaumont then either.

It was moved because KKMY had major issues with building penetration in Beaumont and Port Arthur both.

That was quick; comedy is back on 103.3, now fed by the 24/7 Comedy network and heavy on the standup.
