I'd love to catch them myself. A good friend who has been a fan for years just saw them recently near Washington D.C. and he said they sounded as good as ever.

I saw them in Chicago in May and they are outstanding. Still with the great harmonies.
If you have the chance to see them do it.

I always heard that the guitar licks at the beginning of "Dance, Dance, Dance" belonged to Glen Campbell.  Daryl Dragon(Carmen Dragon's kid)was in there somewhere too.
Isn't he better known for being "the Captain" (of Captain & Tennille fame) than for being someone's kid?  I have never heard of "Carmen Dragon."  (Although I have always thought that "the Dragon & Tennille" would have been a cooler name for them!  Cool)

Yes, but I assumed everyone already knew that, certainly the person I was addressing.

Wasn't Carmen Dragon a symphony conductor in LA?

In my opinion their latest LP "That's Why God Made Radio" is as good as anything they have done in a long time but has anyone heard it on mainstream radio???

Sadly, no one listens to mainstream music radio anymore.  At least the Beach Boys' audience doesn't.  The Beach Boys were on several late night talk shows recently.  That's how I found out about the LP.

yeah prety much this BB this fan doesn't listen to mainstream radio for sure, and the 60's sound of this Cd would make it tough to get any airplay, outside of a few plays out of curiosity.

The Beach Boys played Bonnaroo recently.  Wish they would play here in Nashville, so that we could see them without having to pay for everyone else who played Bonnaroo that we did not want to see! Roll Eyes

OMG !!!! Mike Love just fired Brian Wilson, Al Jardin and David Marks via e-mail ..amazing. He has to make room to bring his kid Christian Love back in the band plus with his ego there isn't enough stage... Mike Love is a huge part of the Beach Boys, I'll give him that, but after hearing the reunited original Beach Boys in July and Mike Love's Beach Boys 3 three years ago....sorry Mike It's not even close.

My first LP when I joined the Columbia Record club (buy 10 get ten free, remember that??) back in 1963, Andy Williams .."Academy award winners" and also "Days of Wines and Roses  and other TV favorites" and "Little Duece Coupe" I already had the previous three Beach Boys..Andy Wiliams and The Beach Boys my two favorites at the Time...sad week indeed....sad year actually, brutal year..

How can there be a Beach Old Men Boys reunion tour with only one Beach Old Man Boy?  What's next - Mick Jagger hooking up with four unknowns and touring as the Stones for their 50th?

The reunion tour actually has 5 of the original 7 Beach Boys (If you credit Bruce Johnston as an Original, and he usually is credited as one) mike Love's Beach Boys drops down to 2.  The Stones are pretty amazing with three left and Ronnie has been with them for quite a while..There other groups with just one member..that don't sound that great...but hey at our age we'll take what we can get.
