So this new station has WJSE calls, the former PD of WDOX, and is on the same frequency (albeit in a different location) and uses a similar slogan to WHTG/G-Rock.   It's like the culmination of all of NJ's commercial Alternative stations in the past decade.

Glad someone in NJ is trying Alternative, even if it's not in my listening area, and I'm sure the station will sound good.

Coastal had nothing to do with the "REAL" WDOX, they actually ruined it.
The original WDOX was started under owner Don Powers, with Tom McNally,
Frank Lario, John Kerr, Chuck Knutson, Dave Wetmore and others involved
in the 93.1 and 106.7 programming.   When Coastal took over, they dumped
it after the LMA period and went into one of their many failed efforts.
How long will this one last at the home of recycled call letters?

Well, this is good news ... for South Jersey and the fish who happen to be swimming nearby. And it's about time someone tried something a little different here, as there are just too many Classic Hits/Oldies stations in the market, and Fun's take on it was perhaps the most homogenized (and thus, least interesting) in the market. Hopefully this station will be locally programmed, rather than simply being beamed from Westwood One like Fun has been. And hopefully Monmouth/Ocean will eventually receive a much-needed shakeup to its bland radio landscape which is chock full of bland sound-alike soft rock and Top 40 stations.

That station's just spinning the format wheel again. It never found success no matter what format it had, because of its signal.

It's not the same old WJNN 106.7 anymore.  It changed frequency to 106.3, moved
to a new site (on the Wildwood Boulevard) and increased power to 6000 watts.

Hopefully they'll do well this time.
