The end of Dr. Akbar and the Lamptimer?
« on: July 09, 2012, 05:38:08 PM »

My heart skipped a beat, until I realized that this was a Pinto and not a Gremlin. That, and the lamptimer is still running...six minutes slow.

Keep on truckin, Dr. Akbar!  Grin

Unsafe Ford Pinto? Isn't that redundant?

Safe driver of an unsafe Pinto, or driver of an unsafe Pinto, or both?  Or do I really care about a bit of a misplaced modifier, that reminds me of Uncle Albert and the man with the wooden leg named Smith (what was the name of his other leg?).

Ha ha hahaha - gas can held by a tire on the front seat connected to keep the car running.  The guy had to get to work somehow.

Actually, gas in the front seat was much safer than in the unprotected gas tank in the rear.

My mom used to own a Pinto. My sister put holes in the floorboard trying to drive to a high school boondocker in the river bottom.

It's any wonder we're still here.

Pinto, Vega, Gremlin....classics cut from the same piece of rusted sheet metal! How'd Chrysler escape crappy sub-compacts?  Oh yeah, they had Omni and Horizon!  But WTF - Nurse Jeff and I are more interested in finding out who is behind KWTF in Prescott Valley http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php?topic=215426.0 Those calls are right in there with the late KKLT and the even later newscasts on KKNT  Wink

Dr, the evil genius behind KWTF/KBUZ is David Lee, voiceover guy.

I swooned, I laughed, I remembered that my favorite DJ on the ORIGINAL KBUZ (Bruce Hamilton...sounded a bit like Mr. Rogers) couldn't hold a candle to Lee's mind numbing imaging you get right here on the AM radio in Arizona's Most Boring Town.

Or the Mercury Bobcat....a Pinto who wanted to be a Cougar!  And for those who domicile in Absurdville, remember how the geniuses at AMC kept the Gremlin alive as a Spirit? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcxXOyFBcfs  So why buy a Chevette, when you can look even dorkier in a Spirit?

Keeping this radio related, the Nurse and I are planning a day trip to Prescott Valley to catch KWTF.  Now we can reduce our massive carbon footprint if someone would be kind enough to post a link with their streaming audio feed.
