Maybe O/T. But might there be some signal degradation at issue? Or has the noise level gotten that monstrous in, say, the past fifteen years alone?
See, even with the tiny signal they were alotted, WVPO was a daytime regular back in the 60's where we lived, in Eastern Queens NYC. We were about 70-75 miles east of WVPO.
Of course, that reception was off a good DX radio. However, the same receiver quality was available over here in NEPA (58 miles west of WVPO) when we moved in 20 years ago. WVPO came in 'okay' back then. But no longer. Just now, they are barely audible.
