« on: July 10, 2012, 01:21:33 PM »

When you access the studio view on their website there is a sentence that says WPRO is the only news talk station  that is live and local16 hours a day. that is correct but WNIR 100.7 in Akron Ohio hbeats them this is the station Howie Chizek worked at for 38 years until is sudden passing last month they are live and local 530am-11pm  17and a half hours a day and hosts  work a 6 day week on saturday live and local with weekday hosts and one part timer 6am-10pm

I think they mean in Providence.  That slogan is definitely geared toward the local audience, not those that know what is happening in Ohio.

WPRO is the only news talk station that is live and local 16 hours a day.

If you are going to take it literally, the Ohio station is more than 16 hours a day.  You'd have to find another station that is live and local for EXACTLY 16 hours per day to say that WPRO is not the only station. Wink  Anyway, they obviously mean in the Providence market.  More like... "WPRO is the only local news talk station with the most live and local programming."
