AM Change in Monroe

Looks like 1680-AM KRJO has flipped formats.  Gospel and Oldies gives way to All-News as of 7/16/12.

If you're in Atlanta, there's no way you're going to hear KRJO-AM out of Monroe, Louisiana.

Yes, all of our stations are on tune in.

KRJO is TRN 5a-8p and then we are simulcasting KMLB from 8p-5a.  ABC News at the TOH and Louisiana Network at BOH.

KRJO could reach Atlanta on nighttime skip, but it depends on how close you are to the local 1690 transmitter site (they could spill over onto 1680).  I regularly hear expanded band stations at some distance at night, owing to the fact that there aren't many other signals sharing the freq.

Actually, Atlanta's 1690 WMLB transmitter/tower sits in the middle of a government parking lot that is about 1000 feet from my back door.    Wink

Were the ground radials put down before the parking lot was paved?

This is what they were doing with KLIF/KKLF in Dallas with both stations simucasting a little while ago. Really 540 comes in pretty good here in Forest, MS and 1680 is like 1640 in Biloxi, MS coming in at night with no competition. This is essentially 2 identical talk radio stations sharing the same programming. I hope you find the other station some seperate programming.

The KMLB simulcast is temporary.
