But it was approved and then withdrawn.....very strange to say the least.

Could just be that they need more paperwork of some sort, returned it, and they'll re-submit. But yes it sounds like they approved then rescinded it.
Or I note that KV posted on boston radio interest that maybe the WODS flip ruined CC's plans and maybe they're backing out?

Who knows..

..but if so, trying to sell to someone else? I don't know if it would happen but if so, imagine Entercom...
"WRKO FM 101.7" anybody? (FNX fans would be just as upset if Howie turned up on 101.7!)

You got to wonder - did 103.3 flipping ruin what CC wanted to do and they have decided to pay Mindich the $3M and walk away.

Something happened.

Could be. Am talking about it with Mark S on twitter right now.

Entercom buy 101.7? "WRKO-FM" or bring back Mike
CBS? FM home of WBZ Newsradio (as Mark says, make that WBZ-FM and 98.5 becomes WBCN, the Sports Hub)
Entercom--put WAAF // there, sell off 97.7 or use for something else?
Cumulus entry in Boston?

And again it could just go through as planned and this is just a slight bump. No official word yet of the
FCC approval, less than a wk before the switch, but it could still well go to CC.

That much is true...but what? And what (if anything) does that have to do with the requested call sign change?

Most Clear Channel stations are licensed not as Clear Channel Communications, but as other corporate names.  "AMFM" was the former Chancellor group acquired by CC a decade ago.  AMFM is listed on the FCC database as the owner of Kiss 108 (and I assume the rest of the Boston CC cluster).
