89.7 pirate in Talladega?
« on: December 13, 2005, 01:13:21 PM »

I'm listening to this religious/conspiracy show called "The Berean Chronicles" online right now.  The host, who's apparently somewhere in Alabama, mentioned that her show is on 89.7 in 'Dega.  That frequency isn't exactly allocated by the FCC.

Has anyone ever heard this pirate?  I probably have and just didn't pay attention since I only scan the non-comm frequencies when E-skip is heavy.  What do they call themselves?

Either they're running some serious power or they're a lot closer to me than Talladega (which isn't that far really).  It comes in better than WTDR, actually. Real clean sound, with live commercial patriot programming taken from Internet streams(you can hear some digital artifacting, but no static or analog distortion).

Anyone want to start a pool on how long it takes the FCC to find out about it?  They're stepping all over 89.9 WTBB here. I don't mind, this station is far more entertaining and informative, but I suspect Trinity Christian Academy and some of their listeners might.
