STAR 101.5 Changes
« on: December 21, 2005, 12:12:27 PM »

I found this on the Star 101.5 Website:

Here is what the Star News letter had to say:

STAR 101.5 IS UNDERGOING AN EXTREME MAKEOVER
KENT & ALAN STYLE!
Listen January 9th for the results of the makeover! We’ll be making some changes that may surprise you! In the mean time, enjoy even more music on STAR 101.5 while our staff takes some time off, and enjoy your Holidays!

My guess:

They hype it a whole lot, and the only change is Kent & Alan start giving away a kitchen remodel every morning instead of a computer.

Anyone remember the "starting(fill in the date)STAR 101.5 will no longer be a radio station" hype from a couple of years ago? Monday morning at 7:00(I think), Kent & Alan announced something like, "we're now your computer station."
So, I'm not reading anything into any of their hype anymore.

Too bad if that's it, the ratings would indicate they need to do a lot more than that.

Seems pretty straightforward to me.  They are going to make
some "small changes."  That was the announcement I heard this
morning.  Not that stunning to be honest.  Probably a new
promotion. STAR is a consistent performer in 25-54 females usually
just behind KMPS. Why would they change when KMPS is about to go
down a little under attack from the WOLF?  My guess is a slight adjustment
or new promotion and they make a big deal about it.  KISS in LA
does this all the time.  On a four book the morning show had one
of their best years ever.  Don't bank on big changes folks, it
is just radio.  Probably trying to steal a little thunder from JACK.

Call it want you want...look at all the "press" that STAR is getting on this board...Nothing wrong with a little stunting every now and then to get the market buzzing.
