They own an AC in Rochester on 101.3. But as other Phoenix related domains were registered at the same time, it's almost certain where "1014" was headed.

I am by no means a conspiracy theorist, but 1014 could just as easily be a typo for 1041.  As in WBCN/Boston.  I honestly don't think they'll flip to Free FM.

Still...

hmmm...

Wasn't thinking of that one... though freefmphoenix.com was registered at the same time as freefm1014.com. If only Greater Media's Jeff Messerman hadn't hogged up all of the domains for WBCN as a Free FM, we'd probably have a better sense of what's going on there.

(though Messerman did leave the domains for a 100.7 Free FM up for grabs; but, in any case, it's not as though a Free FM from CBS Radio would give too much competition toward the political talk over on 96.9.)

By the way, in addition to freefm1067.com, Infinity registered freefmportland.com back in October. Any ideas as to whether Infinity is keeping the AC format on KLTH, or was the domain registered as with Tampa Bay, where 925freefm.com was never used?

Since Infinity was renamed CBS Radio and the company's main website was relaunched, it also means the station listing on the website has been updated to reflect all current formats:
http://www.cbsradio.com/stations/index.php
Hopefully, this'll help with questions about what they own on what frequency.

There's a (currently) short discussion of both freefm1067.com and freefmportland.com on the Oregon board (just posting this link here in hopes to grow the Oregon board):

One last thought: maybe some of the domains registered were to throw those of us radio message board speculators off.  I have no clue if this is true or not, but it has happened before, and not just with radio.
