Idea for WHPX-26 once PAX goes Bust
« on: June 19, 2005, 09:18:48 PM »

I was looking at the Chicago TV Board and Chicago has an Awsome LPTV Station called WWME-CA and I think their line-up is awsome and would be a good idea for Channel 26 in New London/Hartford once PAX goes bye-bye. Here's their line-up from the Chicago TV Board. http://www.radio-info.com/mods/board?Post=445710&Board=tv-chicago

My guess is that WHPX-TV/DT will become the market's Telemundo affiliate, since we've already got an NBC owned & operated station (WVIT-TV/DT). Only problem: what happens to WRDM-LP (TEL) channel 13 of Hartford?

WRDM owns the Telemundo affilliation rights in a multiyear deal, so the only way it happens would be through a simulcast of WRDM 13 on WHPX (same way as WTMU LP67 is simulcasted on WNEU 60 in Boston).  If you guys don't know it by now, ZGS Broadcasting (the owner of WRDM) is the largest owner of stations outside of the O&O by NBC/Telemundo Station Group.

I don't see dropping their simulcast on WDMR LP 56 (soon to be 51) in Springfield.
