It's called sarcasm...try it sometime.

First off, don't call me son. Second, by saying "those of us in the business," you imply that I'm not in it...and again, you're wrong. Third, no I'm not one of the vultures of the board. We all know who they are and they type of poster that they are.

Again, it's called sarcasm. I was making a light-hearted post in response to you and you took it literally. I can't help that.

Geez...

Sorry MC, but "Son" wasn't my first choice anyway. As for sarcasm, I dunno- calling people "sick" and "vultures" seems like more of a personal slam than sarcasm. I think sarcasm also has an element of wit to it. For instance if I were to write "Matt is hilariously funny on the air and it's hard to tune away during his show" that would be sacasm because it states as fact something that is obviously in contention. You see there's a subtle difference to saying "You suck" and having a little fun with it. Personally I think you are an awesome radio personality and should be syndicated! (Hey, you're right this sarcasm thing is pretty fun!)

LOL...if I were a PD and was taking on MISS 103, I'd dedicate the theme from Brokeback Mountain to them.

Well, that's fine. You want to start a pissing match, go ahead. I'm not going to participate, however. If you want to take my post literally and get offended, that's fine. You want to take personal shots at me? Fine as well. You are certainly entitled to your opinion.

I made no personal slams.

Can't take the heat? Get out of the kitchen.

Trust me, I do not need or seek any affirmation from you. As for the heat in the kitchen- right back at ya. I'm glad you feel relevant enough to offer advice but just as an airline pilot doesn't need the stewardess to tell him how to fly the plane I don't need some glorified board-op who thinks he's a air personality giving me lessons in semantics or radio, either.(Not that that would apply here!) As for the "pissing match" I believe you whipped it out first, but I can report that not only is the water cold, it sure is deep.

You know what Wenny, here's the deal. I made an attempt at humor with you. You took it personally and have decided to attack me personally. I am an air personality, and whether you think so or not is YOUR opinion. I still get daily e-mails from my listeners in Jackson asking me when I'm coming back.

You can't take a joke...fine. You're the one who made this personal, not me.

If I offended you, I apologize. Geez...move on!

Sorry, didn't get the joke, still don't- but if you say so...BTW it was a "professional" not "personal" attack. I don't know you personally but by all accounts you're a nice guy- it just didn't come across that way when you called me "sick" and threw the "vulture" reference in there for good measure. That said, I'm moving on so the good people who read these posts don't have to get bored with something of only marginal interest to even us two. My apologies gentle readers, let this be a cautionary tale for all, including myself: Flaming posts are counter-productive, see how far off the original topic we've gotten?

Believe me, I didn't intend for us to get into this either. I really meant no harm. I probably could have phrased things a bit better so that the post didn't seem so abrasive. That's the trouble with written conversation on message boards...sometimes things get misconstrued.

No harm, no foul. Actually, after all of the stress I'm going through personally right now, a good healthy flame war was just the remedy.

Now, where do we meet for beer? lol
