WOXY now history....
« on: June 01, 2005, 11:43:37 PM »

I'm kind of amazed that no one has noted this. Heritage Alternative station WOXY 97.7, Oxford/Cincinnati, Ohio, has been "hijacked". They flipped to a "Jack" type of format, this past weekend, simulcasting with a couple of other Cincy area signals...sad...

Wasn't it flipped last May?  When they sold the signal, the Baloghs retained the intellectual property rights and music library so the old crew could take it online... www.woxy.com

The Baloghs sold the terrestrial station and kept woxy.com. The new owners, First Broadcasting, kept the station a modern rock format (via WAITT Radio Netowrk and the 'alternative' programming) until last Sunday night at 11:45 when the flip occured.

So, the "heritage" pretty much disappeared in May 2004 when the station was sold to First.

Different story.  WOXY was sold a year ago... it was just flipped to a Jack format a few days ago.
