I should have read the whole post...begining with the first thread, to begin with. Keep your Political rants off the board. (You can discuss on the "Off the Air" board. When politics are discussed HERE, it MUST pertain to radio. While there was a small attempt to bring it back to radio, it was lame.

Any questions? Email me...

Okay, Cab, I hear ya! But have you have to admit, that very first post on that thread you deleted was, in fact, a political statement disguised as a "news/talk radio" post.--And that's what got me started! At least if I say something politcal on this board (which I know I shouldn't do), I don't do it in a sly/sneaky sort-of-way.

Cab, you have your own show, yes? Can I ask you: don't you just hate it when you get a caller who calls in and says he wants to talk about subject "a"...but instead, in a crafty/conniving way he starts talking about subject "b" instead? I know a lot of talk show hosts get mad at callers who tell their screener they want to talk about whatever the host is talking about, and so the screener puts them on hold, and when the caller finally gets on the air, he starts off mentioning what the host has been saying....but then he begins to tip-toe his way into another subject altogether so as to make his own political statement. Like the guy who calls up to talk about, say, social security, and then somehow he winds up mentioning the war in Iraq! The two subjects don't go together, but you'll often times hear callers try to make some sort of "tortured justification" for trying to tie those two subjects together (or any other two completely different subjects, for that matter). And then the talk show host gets so frustrated that he ends up zapping the caller in mid-sentence!! You may or may not have a screener where you are, but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. I know that I get frustrated whenever I read posts on this board that are disingenuous in nature (like the first post on that now-deleted thread), and then I start taking that poster to task. (My bad!)

Well, anyway.......Thanks for listening, Cab!

The John Lennon conspiracy guy..

Speaking of that, there's a guy who frequently gets in on Mike McConnell's weekend show plugging a web site saying the CIA murdered John Lennon..despite the best screening attempts.

That guy has been calling KGO for years.  Last time I heard him he'd run his voice through a harmonizer to sound like a woman to get past the screener.

Next thing you'll know some other whacko will start calling with proof that Paul McCartney died in 1966 and has been impersonated by a look/sound alike since...
