Loveline gone from 105.3 The Buzz
« on: March 24, 2006, 04:41:12 PM »

105.3 The Buzz has removed all references to "Loveline" from their website today.  I was guessing that this would happen as last night, Aaron the night jock said he always hates saying goodbye but he has a feeling we would be spending more time together very soon.  He also stopped announcing that "Loveline" is coming up next at the end of his show over the last week or so.

Not too surprising of a move.  The show has not been too great since Adam Carolla left back in November and it is said that Danny Bonaduce is about to join as co-host, so this is a good time for The Buzz to remove it.  Additionally, it really didn't fit too well with the rest of their "more music, less commercials" programming.  I'm glad that the rock will continue till midnight starting next week.

Loveline came to Atlanta in March 1999 on 96rock and remained there until August 2004 when it was moved to 96.7 The Buzz.  The showed moved with the station to 105.3 last May.

I kinda hate to see it go. It was my "guilty pleasure" driving in to work at nights. But, it did lose it's lustre when Adam left. I even stopped listening to it. Dr. Drew's okay, but he really needs someone to fire the show up. Plus, it annoyed me that Loveline was a whole day delay. I don't know if Danny Boneduce will be a good replacement or not. But, I guess we'll never find out. Hey, what about Freddy T? Toucher's about the same "I'm gonna take about half an hour to rant about one thing" type-A personality as Adam. Yeah, "Loveline with Dr. Drew and Toucher". I'd listen.

Speaking of Adam Corolla, I saw that Adam's morning show is broadcast on the Free FM that Jimmy Baron auditioned for in San Fran.

Maybe I shouldn't get into other's business, but there was another sex-type show around for about a year (syndicated) called Love Phones or something like that. Carolla ripped into it one time years ago on Loveline. I think it was only a one-hour a day thing and basically dropped dead pretty quick.

Maybe that helps,

Love Phones was on 96rock before Loveline.  I think it was 2 hours and went a few years.

I believe it was the Pleasure Dome. From around 1992-1995?? Sunday nights. On right before Yvonne Monet's Techno Show.

Believe it or not, 99x used to be a really cool radio station.

I remeber that 96rock had "Love Phones" with Dr Judy and Jagger up against The Pleausre Dome on 99x.  The Pleasure dome was a local show.  I only remember that because I remember a caller talking about doing the nasty at a putt-putt golf course in kennesaw.

Heh. I remember that one- Dr. Roger Libby + Yvonne Monet... after the Beat Factory on Saturday nights, if I'm remembering correctly.

I really hate hearing that show is going off the air.  The Buzz is totally useless to me as a music station.  Oh well.
