That's what I wanna' know. Whoever posted that "welfare class" jive is obviously part of the "we're not racist, but..." crowd.

If there's gonna' be a "but" after not being racist you might as well save your breath because that is SYMBOLIC RACISM. Of course no one's gonna' come out and directly say they're racist so they get real subtle about it with their words and actions, but guess what...WE'RE ON TO YOU!!!

Roy Barnes warned us about this exact same thing, how bigotry has become more subtle, more polite, but it's still bigotry.

Ah, Ole boy Roy.  One of our more lackluster governors.

The problem is, people have such thin skin nowadays.  The problem is staring us right in the face, and the solution is equally as close, yet, we get wrapped up in being "offended" and being "PC", to the point where viable solutions are never realized.

Got news for ya, chief.  I call things the way I see them.  As a nation, we used to be this way.  Now, we're merely spineless whimps more concerned about not offending anyone than in finding proactive solutions.  If that makes me a racist, so be it.  I won't lose a lick of sleep over it.

Cowboy:

My Original Comment:

Today, more than ever, most of the Hispanic workers in the construction industry are not skilled in their trade. Sadly, they do not have the language skills, desire, or aptitude to ever become skilled and therefore will ultimately become a liability to our society.

I fear we are beginning to see the growth of another welfare class in our society.

Your Response:

That's what I wanna' know. Whoever posted that "welfare class" jive is obviously part of the "we're not racist, but..." crowd.

A Definition For You:

big•ot  n.

One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.

Cowboy, Cowboy Cowboy . . .

Many of these unskilled and uneducated workers coming across our border now are not youths.  They are in their middle twenties or older.  Giving amnesty to a group of folks that arrive here illegally with no means of support, no marketable skills, no education, are not literate in English, no desire to better themselves, and do not plan to return back to their country of citizenship will potentially add to our welfare rolls.

I live in Brookhaven on a street with many Hispanic families.  With regularity, bills are left in my mail boxes (I have four) where the address has been transposed or is fictitious for delivery to an individual with a Hispanic surname.  These bills are from Grady, DeKalb County (911 ambulance service) or for some other health care agency.  Out of curiosity, I have followed up on some of these bills.  The vast majority result in the address of my building being used as a means of escaping financial responsibility for the payment of services rendered.  This has been going on since 1988 when I first purchased this property.

Care to venture a guess who is paying for these unpaid bills?  Care to guess just how prevalent this problem is across the metro area?

If Cowboy’s new definition of a bigot is one who resents law breakers, resents folks that manipulate the system for their gain at the cost of American citizens, resents folks that avoid paying their bills, and resent folks ducking out on their tax liability, then I am guilty.

THis guy is hard core racist.  I don't understand how the moderator, who is so careful to delete any posts that he/she judges to be political, continues to allow these posts.

****when you say that a large group of people do not have the "aptitude" to ever  do a job, that is racist.

****when you say that a large group of people "does not want to better themselves" even though many in that group have made dangerous journeys that you would never dream of, work seven days a week on unpleasant jobs at wages you would never accept, that is nothing but racist.

****when you say that a large group of people is incompetent at their jobs, yet employers seem happy to employ them by the thousands, over long periods of time, that tells me your judgement is very faulty and is most probably clouded by racism.

****when you talk about large group of people who will become a "welfare class," even though they are out working every day at low wage jobs, and ignoring the fact that they are most certainly not eligible for any type of welfare, that indicates a real lack of common sense, generated by racism.

****when you rant on about how a large group of people get all kinds of government benefits, then you somehow intercept mail which indicates they are not paying medical bills and you ignore the implication that these individuals are not eligible to recieve government medical aid, what else except racism could explain that?

Your arguments are oh so familiar and have been used for generations to slam and keep down various groups in the US.  It is a shame that our society has never been able to overcome this disease.

I'm just going to let your screenname and your area of residence speak for itself.

Now y'all, maybe we should get on back to discussing Atlanta radio and move this at least to the "Off-The-Air" board. I apologize for my contributions to this misplaced thread.
