Why wasn't this tried before?

What took the Philly radio execs so long to "get it"?

WRNB - Urban AC - 6th 12+  (beating TEN other Philly FM stations!)
WRDW - Hip Hop/Rap - 11th 12+
WPPZ - Gospel - 14th 12+

All of the above are doing way better then "Max", "Mix", "Jammin' Gold" "Y100" and "The Point" ever did.

Why didn't these flips occur years ago?

Cause those formats werent as popular then as they are now.

yea what was the point of this post...

incase u havent read y-100 was the most profitable of radio-ones philly stations.

ratings do not tell the whole story.

-first of all, 1/3 of alternative listeners cant be reached by land line

-they dont tell how profitable a station is
