Maybe I am asking this question to the wrong people, but you seem to be knowledgably. Living in Johnson County Texas, Lillian area, I am trying to find scanner frequencies for the local volunteer fire department. And I think there is a frequency that they use to talk to county and state fire departments. Am I off base here? I would like to program them into my older Radio Shack scanner just so I can see what is going on when I hear the sirens, but can not for the life of me find any active numbers. I did ask one of the volunteers and he gave me a run around, basically, if you are not a fireman you don't need those numbers.. Ideas? Thanks. www.cityfreq.comVFD
used to be dispatched/paged at around 40 mHz (37.900 in Smith County, TX).You might also monitor 150-160 mHz to see what you can find. If all else fails, do a Goooooooogle search.73s!
