Then it gives all the communities, cities, burgs, maybe even counties, for Texas. The above, for the LVFD is the only listing for Lillian. Maybe I am asking this question to the wrong people, but you seem to be knowledgably. Living in Johnson County Texas, Lillian area, I am trying to find scanner frequencies for the local volunteer fire department. And I think there is a frequency that they use to talk to county and state fire departments. Am I off base here? I would like to program them into my older Radio Shack scanner just so I can see what is going on when I hear the sirens, but can not for the life of me find any active numbers. I did ask one of the volunteers and he gave me a run around, basically, if you are not a fireman you don't need those numbers.. Ideas?  Thanks.

www.cityfreq.comVFD used to be dispatched/paged at around 40 mHz (37.900 in Smith County, TX).You might also monitor 150-160 mHz to see what you can find. If all else fails, do a Goooooooogle search.73s!

Yeah, 149 MHz falls into the 2 meter amateur band. You can see a list of ham frequiencies on the ARRL website. [pdf]CB (11 meters) is just below the Amateur 10 meter band. That runs from 26.965MHz to 27.405MHz. Hope this helps73, KB2MOB

ACTUALLY 149 is US Government band....(148-150 is)....Thats where MARS has freqs in and so does other groups like CAP, etc (there is one CAP freq iirc that is in the 149MHz range)
