To have the right to do somehthing, and to do something profitable must fit into the same sentance. With radio being a business before it can be anything else (and blah blah blah)One has to figure this will be thought out very well.I think O&A will end up on 92.9 anyway, and CBS will just pay Citidel for the rights.

I think you're right about O&A on WBUF/JAck, but you're mistaken about paying Citadel. CBS "owns" the rights to O&A. It would Citadel that would pay CBS if A&A aired on one of the Citadel stations in Buffalo. There are some interesting observations being made at the other board.Note to moderators. In the information age, it's really foolish to delete posts that refer readers to the other board, don't you think? Free flow of ideas and information and all that...[/mike]

One of the boards out there has some psycho threatning suicide over too many boards, demanding a merge. I hope he/she takes medication and gets well soon.(or stops being silly) I do agree though, that there shouldn't be any harm in refering to other boards. It's not like there's any advertising revenue being lost.I believe people will still post here just as much anyway, wether there's a link to another board or not.

I have found that it is not possible to link to posts on the other board. Apparently, the protocols prohibit it. Fine. But it should be noted that I attempted to create a link to a thread on the other board not because I was trying to be a smart a$$ but because there was a relevant discussion that merited participation. Over the years of posting here, I have made every attempt to live within the TOS, while linking to newsworthy items whether they were on Radio & Records or The New York Times. It's particularly frustrating, this turf war that's going on. I often wonder what Doug Fleming, one of the original creators, would have thought about all this nonsense. I have nothing but respect for his efforts and empathy for his parents, but I wish the claims between the entities could have been settled so that it did not result in two distinctly different boards. Now we have two different communities and a degree of polarization that does not benefit either community, its posters or readers. Historically, it calls to mind the division of states, e.g., East & West Berlin, North & South Korea. Extreme examples perhaps, but you get the idea. It just shouldn't have to be this way. Oh, one more thing. Although I have acclimated myself to the new formatics and sign-on ritual, I still think the "old board" was better laid out and made for easier posting and participation. [/Mike]
