If their servers get loaded with two-dozen mp3s, you're talking about 80-90 megs. Of course, if you're following an ad that says to send your package to an e-mail address, than it's fine. PD's generally listen while doing something else. An mp3 is less fluid than a CD. It's much easier to open a padded envelope and drop a CD in your car CD player than it is to download an mp3 and burn it to a CD or load it onto your Rio player.
Fantastic for you that you accept e-mail packages...Not all PDs think like you. Which is exactly the reason you should ask before sending (unless you've been asked for it.) What does it hurt to send an e-mail saying "Would it be alright if I sent my package via e-mail?"

Heck, if the send it via carrier pidgeon I'll check it out. You NEVER know what you might discover.
I'm also probably really wierd in that anybody applying to work at my stations who call me I talk to them. And, if they're not going to make the cut, I'll tell 'em up front and be honest way- not in a critical spirit but just being frank and at the same time give them something they can maybe use to improve and try to get better. It's just the right way to do things if we ever hope to continue grooming future talent and it only takes a few minutes. > > Fantastic for you that you accept e-mail packages...Not all > PDs think like you. That IS the right way to do it. I wish more PDs would think that way. Every job I've ever applied for, I've said something like "If I'm not right for the job, please take a minute to critique me and give me some advice for next time." In eight years, not a single person has done it.

Actually, I would take what you just said one step further and I would add that virtually all of Missouri is "the meth capital of the US"!! I read somewhere recently that Missouri leads the nation in.....get this....."meth mouth" cases. (I am not making this up!) Now, "meth mouth", for those of you out there who don't know, is a physical/dental condition where a serious/big-time meth user develops a persistant case of exceedingly dry mouth and gums, which over time leads to tooth decay and eventually tooth loss. Now, I have to say, I have been through Missouri many times in my life, and come to think of it, I have seen many, many, many people of various ages, skin colors, and from all walks of life with one or more (usual more) missing/discolored teeth. Yes, my friend, I would have to say that the state of Missouri has a serious meth crisis on its hands! Yes, indeed!
