David A. Sennett Dies
« on: July 16, 2006, 02:55:52 PM »

I regret to inform the local broadcasting community of the passing of David A. Sennett. David worked at numerous top market stations in his career, including, I believe a stint in Buffalo and later at WHAM, where I had the fortunate opportunity to know him.

David's passing is a personal loss to myself and those who knew him.

 Sad

I remember him doing "The David A. Sennett Electric Radio Program" afternoons on WHAM in the early 70's.  He always ended his shows with variations on the same theme ... "(do this or do that honey), I'm comin' home".

How did you learn of this, Mark, and do you know what it is he died of?  Just curious.

Dave Sennett started out in Utica at WTLB,  or at least passed thru there very early in his career. He was one of the original "Alive Five".  Since that was around 1956-57 that would make him one of the first top 40 jocks in the country!  I actually met him at a remote when I must have been about 5.  He was very nice to me.  He later moved on to WKBW and maybe  did a shift in Chicago. Everything I have ever heard about him since says he was a class act. We'll all miss him.

All I know is that David had been ill for quite a while. Out of respect I never asked what he was suffering from, feeling instead that I could only offer words of comfort and prayers.
David's obit was listed in today(July 16th) Democrat & Chroncile newspaper.
