Wonder if this station would work here?

Wonder how well a station like Jammin 105.9 in Austin would work in Houston?  They play some great stuff.  You can also listen online check it out any thoughts?

Could be the next format for the loser of the KRBE/KHMX Hot AC war.

this one might do good with listeners 18-30. Might do a little better than the Point, but not too much.

I'd rather hear a clone of KGSR - Austin in the Houston area.

I would like the Point to be a new R&B station or a soft AC that includes some standards......both are needed here......

Standards would be nice as well as another r&b station I wish some of these rims would change some formats.

With the flip of 92.1, it appears 97.5 is the focus of new format speculation.  But Urban has been tried there already (KRWP Power 97.5) and failed.  I doubt standards would work either, unless it was possibly "younged up" a little, and ran almost completely automated, a la Country Legends 97.1.

I'm almost starting to think that Asian language programming might be the best choice for 97.5.  There has been discussion in the past that 103.3 would go that route if the signal was upgraded.

You know Froggy, my friend, Asian might be a good format choice for 97.5.  It seems like as good of an idea as anything else anyone has come up with, and I, too, have heard the rumors about Vietnamese on 103.3.  However, I wouldn't look for it to happen at 97.5.  Having worked for Cumulus, I just can't see it happening.  It always seemed to me that Cumulus never did programming that couldn't be done in house.  It just seemed like Atlanta knew what we were doing at all times.  Maybe it was just the brand managers we had and maybe things have changed, but it seemed very micromanaged.  So, I wouldn't look for anything innovative or unique, and I wouldn't look for them to give up on 97.5 as a talk station anytime soon, at least not unless they get a Vietnamese brand manager!

Houston had a Standards Station for many years, which was KQUE FM 102.9 (K-Que 103) , it flipped to Modern Hits - 102.9 The Planet KKPN in 1998, then The Planet flipped to Mexican afterwards.
