She was a stripper at one time, before meeting Gene.

Why am I'm not surprised by this?

As for the other fraud shows, I'm surprised no one has tried to kill Pat Robertson the way he keeps shooting off his mouth.

Meanwhile here in the Hartford-New Haven market MY TV 59 has dumped the fraud known as Benny Hinn. It was airing at 1030AM Monday-Friday and has been replaced by Infomercials.

I've seen Pastor Gene Scott's show on WHPX Channel 26 every night at 12AM. Is it just on Channel 26 or is it on every "i" network affiliate?

In Hartford they just can't find a station to keep Pastor Scott's minsties on. Back in the 70s and 80s he owned/programmed WHCT Channel 18. He was being investigated and the station was put up for sale around 1984. Early this century he was on 24/7 on WHCT-LP Channel 38, a low-power station with no studios and no cable carriage. All that WHCT-LP is, is a tower attached to the WCCC-FM tower on AVON Mountain in West Hartford with a satelitte reciever that now brings the Azteca America Programming to the Hartford area. After he got bounced from WHCT-LP, he ended up on FOX 61 Sunday Mornings at 10AM. This ended in late 2006 and he's now on every night at Midnight on WHPX Channel 26.

I can't remember what channel I saw it on, but didn't I see what remains of Dr. Gene Scotts show the other night?  There was an attractive young woman in a clerical collar going on about something that didn't make any sense at all- just like Gene Scott.  I never could figure out what he was talking about.

I'm not convinced that Gene Scott actually knew what he was talking about.  I think he just took any random metaphysical wackiness he could find and tossed in the occasional reference to Jesus so people would remember he was Christian.

That said, he really didn't promise anything more than wacky entertainment.  He didn't "heal" people.  He didn't tell people that their donations would somehow magically multiply and be returned to them. Heck, he barely talked about salvation, the enormous sign on his church notwithstanding.  All in all, he's one of the more respectable figures in the history of televangelism (which is about like saying someone was one of the raunchiest shock jocks of easy listening radio).

I believe that Scott's show is on the i network feed, which is what my local cable system carries. I was flipping across the dial Friday night and there was a rerun of Scott himself on, although I've seen his wife as well.

I can't believe that i has stooped as low as to have his show on. It used to be that late Friday and Saturday nights on Pax were filled with youth oriented Christian music shows, and I wish they would get back to that. This is worse than infomercials. But then I guess any dollar a holler preachers on i would qualify as infomercials.  Undecided

I would like to see a behind-the-scenes story on the mailing productions of some of these ministries. I mean, it is a major mailing operation.....

As for Disclaimers..... I think the TV stations and Networks should be airing them before and after all of the Pharmaceutial adds. When something that's supposed to help you, kills you.... I'd call that a kind of a scam . . .  Tongue

PRAYZE-TV. I remember that. I believe they (like "Z", the other Christian Music Video Channel) went belly up. They were owned by The Worship Network, which PAX used to air overnights.

Doesn't "i" usually carry another religious program, "Live Prayer", at that time?

I believe you're speaking of Robert Tilton.  He's the one that does Success-N-Life.  I detest this man.  All he does is put money to his face and then says a prayer.

Never mind the fact, he'll read from the letters he gets and then throws them away, while he's pocketing the money that he might get in some of them.

Far as I'm concerned, he's a fraud.  I would advise you to stay away from him and don't fall for any of his evil tricks.

All he wants is your money.

I saw this Tilton guy this morning on BET hawking a "miracle cake".

Aren't these networks afraid of legal liability?

They used to. I don't know what happened to it. Maybe they ran out of money.

That's nothing.  We get, at least, seven hours of Dr. Arnold Murray and Shepherd's Chapel TV network on Men's 2 Channel. (From about 2 A.M. till 9 A.M. C.S.T. Monday-Friday) This is a speciality channel, that is carried on Dish Network, on channel 219.  His sermons are a hoot to watch, when I even bother to check them out.

Speaking of Dr. Scott.  Men's 1 Channel was broadcasting her sermons, at Midnight, for a long time.

Her program is nothing but babbling.  She comes off as a joke to me.  I detest her presentation and views.

She's now on The "I" Network, as I'm posting this.
