...in the late '80s, Dr. Gene Scott was a brilliant entertainer to watch. Even when he'd throw a tantrum and leave his set, with the camera fixed on the empty chair. You'd tune to a different station, but there was always the temptation to tune back to see if he was over the tantrum -- and when you did tune back after about 45 minutes, damned if the chair was still there, empty. But when he felt like playing it straight and teaching his theology, he could be remarkably personable and a fascinating orator. Kinda like an alloy of Bishop Sheen, Arthur Godfrey, Andy Kaufman and the WPIX Yule Log Film ;-) ...

That's nothing.  We get, at least, seven hours of Dr. Arnold Murray and Shepherd's Chapel TV network on Men's 2 Channel. (From about 2 A.M. till 9 A.M. C.S.T. Monday-Friday) This is a speciality channel, that is carried on Dish Network, on channel 219.  His sermons are a hoot to watch, when I even bother to check them out.

Speaking of Dr. Scott.  Men's 1 Channel was broadcasting her sermons, at Midnight, for a long time.

Her program is nothing but babbling.  She comes off as a joke to me.  I detest her presentation and views.

She's now on The "I" Network, as I'm posting this.

R.D.P. <><

Melissa Scott just doesn't have the chops necessary to replace her husband.  Old Gene was an extremely intelligent individual and a consummate showman.  She, well, isn't.  She's the Gabriel Melgar of televangelism.

Television Ministries

During Wednesday Evening, i have read a number of responses regarding
"Television Ministries" that air on many cable networks and local TV stations.
Many of those on today rely on viewers to keep their programs going, and
yes, it cost money to be on television, but as a "born-again" christian, i
believe if you are going support anyone, do it through the church you attend,
at least you know where it's going, God's word should never come with a
price tag, it's free for those who want to learn what the bible says and how
we should apply it to our lives each day.

I would like to remind you that "Inside Edition" last week ran a new piece on Popoff:

Oh, and that "sacred dead sea salt" that comes with the "miracle spring water"? Nothing but a packet of generic salt (though there is actual dead sea salt, but not edible)!

I've heard Peter Popoff's radio show..I don't know if he still has one or not. Once he was running a continuous loop of a "prophecy" than ran about 5 minutes and repeated. All I remember was "and I saw the great United States, in the east, New York, in the south New Orleans, in the West, Los Angeles..and I saw the great statue of liberty and the torch was removed from its hand and in its place, a cup". Don't know what the heck that was supposed to mean. And yeah, Robert Tilton is still on with his trophy wife getting people to send in their last dime to recieve a "financial blessing". I guess Ernest Angley is still around. How about some of these blasts from the past..Cecil Todd (the anti-gay crusade with Anita Bryant that pretty much ended her career).  Reverend Ike anyone?

Hi everyone:
I would assume that "DOLLAR" is his real last name. If it wasn't don't you think the write up in Wikipedia would mention his real name? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creflo_Dollar
Speaking of the Wiki, would you believe the write-up in the Peter Popoff Wiki?

Ernest Angley is not only still around, he owns Cleveland's CW(formerly WB) affiliate, WBNX 55.
