Dan Allen and Lou Christie
« on: July 03, 2005, 12:29:45 AM »

Just looking for a couple updates, if anyone knows.
1) Does anyone know where or what Dan Allen is doing now? 'GRR would do well to put him, or something similer to his local call in shows on the air. It sure gave a real local flavor to GRR. The once great oldies station in Cincy is getting farther and farther away from sounding local at all.

2) Does anyone know why the concert at the Aronoff with Lou Christey, the Drifters and a few others was cancelled?

Any oldies concerts anyone know of coming anytime soon to the Cincy area. Have had to travel a lot so far this summer to get any oldies "fix". Going to Akron in August to see Herman's Hermits, Ashland, Ky in July to see Brenda Lee. Bobby Vee, Bryan Hyland, Tommy Roe (I Think), the Chiffons and a few others are in Cherokee, North Carolina in September. Going to Bardstown, Ky. in August for Gary Lewis and the Playboys and Gary Puckett & Union Gap. Sure would like a good one here locally.

Thanx for any help fellow posters.

Take care,
Jim...DJJIMB

Gee, thanks for that! While I was at WSAI (and prior to it for that matter) I was working with CC's Prophet division. I'm working primarily with our MusicGen music scheduling project and it's coming along nicely. I do miss programming a radio station and dial-a-hit but I'm enjoying this project and I'm not sorry I've got all my Saturday nights to myself. In radio things can change quickly so that's my life today. Who knows, next week I may be hosting a garden show in Amarillo with Johnny Fever.

Boy, XM really needs you guys from SAI to go show them how to do 50-60s rock and roll.  There's other things on there that make their fees useful, however their 50s and 60s channels are poor replacements for what you guys had going on 1530.
