Spoken like a TRUE St. Louisian!!!!  Someone who doesn't like or want change and wants to stifel anyone that does.  That's why I left STL.  Well Alex, I am under 40 and it is understandable that you like what you like, but don't keep others from wanting something different.  It is time to appeal to a NEW demo and there are those of us who DO like Smooth Jazz.  Not everyone wants to hear Rock all of the time, I don't care if it is on K-HITS or K-SHE.  For once, Emmis-St. Louis needs to appeal to a different demo for once.   Stop living in the past alex AND Emmis-STL!!!!!!!!

I have nothing against someone trying Smooth Jazz.  However it is foolish to blow up a profitable, highly rated station with a unique format to do it.

Or better yet, listen to Smooth Jazz on Satellite Radio, or on the internet, or make your own CD's.  It won't sell in St. Louis, bottom line.  Classic Rock sells, so it's staying.   Watch KHITS go up in the ratings now that they have expanded their playlist.

If anyone is going to switch to Smooth Jazz in town, it's going to be a station that is suffering for revenue.  KIHT-FM isn't the one.

I forget,  STL is still a dinosaur market that still listens to Classic Rock.

The latest edition of R&R has an article about selling Smooth Jazz. The format does better in revenue when it has it's own seperate sales department that understands the strengths of the format. When Smooth Jazz is sold as part of a cluster it tends to do poorly.

You're a goofball.

Classic Rock does well in most markets in the USA.   Look it up.

Good.   If you aren't intelligent enough to realize that Smooth Jazz is a loser format financially, then you have nothing to offer this city.

Later!

What a joke!!! I have nothing to offer STL.  STL has nothing to offer me (and most young professionals).
Maybe if St. Louisians didn't have that "don't let the door hit ya, where the good lord split ya" attitude (like you Alex B.) MAYBE STL would actually be a world class city!!!
There is more to life than K-Hits and the Cardinals!!!!
There are those of us who LIKE different music and don't want to hear the same rock songs over and over.  Thank God I have WNUA (a SUCCESSFUL smooth jazz station).
Alex, there is a world outside of STL, realize that!!!!!

You think all St. Louis has is K-Hits and Cardinals?  LOL.

I've lived in several cities in my life (radio career, you know) and St. Louis is a world class city.

Now, since you don't like St. Louis, go whine in some other forum.

For you to classify STL as a world-class city (WHICH IT ISNT)  where have you lived, Des Moines, Iowa and Jackson, Mississippi?
Oh, and I am not whining I am just stating fact about STL.  I guess the truth hurts.
