I, for one, used to work for GKA and I do know that eventually listeners get "bored" what what they've got.  WSB is stagnant when it comes to programming.  For the most part, they don't "freshen up" things.  Granted, right now, they don't need to.  But eventually, and it will happen, they'll fall.  When they do, you can bet that somebody like WGKA will be there to pick up the slack.  Will they ever be number 1?  Probably not but they have a very good chance to be in the top 5.  Plus, if they get an FM stick and move their programming on it, who knows what they could do?  Now, will they get an FM here in the A-T-L?  Aahhh my friends, that is the mystery, isn't it?   Roll Eyes

Can we have at least one FM in Atlanta try talk? I can think of 4 or 5 really good choices off the top of my head.  And for God's sake, no more politics.  Been reading comments on WGKA lately, and to be honest, I gave them a button on my car radio this week.  I like Ingraham, but don't know if I can handle another right-wing talker.  I've got the talking points down pat.

You may have all the "talking points" down but the fact is that political talk radio SELLS!  You can't argue with success.  Besides, having a left-wing nut try to talk sense to a right-wing conservative is just highly entertaining and, when all is said and done, that's what we all want on the radio, right?  ENTERTAINMENT?!?  Shocked

You have choices. I had to have a break from WSB and GST, so for the last few weeks I’ve been listening to GKA, CFO, 680, and 790.

GKA gets most of my time, except on weekends when CFO rules.

It's simple...GKA,  like most of the other AM stations has no signal.  WSB is a powerhouse station with a powerhouse signal.

I agree, WSB has an awesome signal 24/7. I’m just getting tired of Boortz and Hannity every day.

Earlier this year, WGKA increased the daytime power to 14, 000 watts. While this isn't anything near WSB, it surely provides parity with WGST and the other AM stations in Atlanta during daylight hours.

Actually, the Salem O&O in Chicago just hired one of the MAJOR talents in the market to replace Bill Bennett.  Who knows, maybe this is a test case and soon many more of Salem's stations will have live local morning shows.

In Dallas, the Salem O&O replaced Bennett with Mike Gallagher. Gallagher does the Morning show live and local before he does his national show. Much like Boortz does for WSB. With the new changes in Daylight Saving Time for 2007, I'd focus my attention on a live afternoon show, not a morning show. They will have more hours during the year at full power during the PM drive than with AM drive.
