Shades of WNEW with the fighting between shows/hosts.  Not good for the long-term success of the format or station but certainly fun to listen too (assuming of course its not all just a gimmick).

O&A are the big draw to Free FM and it would make sense to keep them on until 10am if that can be worked out.  Given O&A's success at bringing in listeners, JV & Elvis should be trying to work with O&A to keep the lead-in instead of going head-to-head.  I see that as a no-win situation for JV & Elvis.

Youre right, shades of WNEW and look how that turned out? compelling radio? yes it was. Smart radio? no it was not, not for either show for just the reasons you gave my man, it's shades of WNEW all over again and  they cant afford another debacle like that. Tomorrow's 8 am hour will be interesting.

he was just trying to make the doghouse look bad .

No, I'm quite sure that the Doghouse show takes care of that issue just fine.

Look, if JV and Elvis want to go back to San Fran, LET THEM.  I've had absolutely NO compulsion to listen to FNY outside of O&A and the music on the weekends.  There is NOTHING else I want to listen to on that station, and let us not forget that O&A have a show READY TO GO if JV and Elvis are gone.

opie made himselfe look bad. He made himself sound like a ego maniac.  As the fight was going on jv and elvis were still being entertaining   and opie and jimmy werent,  opie just sounded like  a phsyco  and jimmy is a bulldog gotta love that lil man. the money and fame went to  op's head hes just a lil blonde howie now. Its a shame because if  the station shows the doghouse some love the station could do  good. But as you cans ee by the 7pm and on  just shows that the management has no clue   what to  do .

Joey, you sir are a hack.  It is obvious to everyone who has read your comments in this thread that you are just a shrill for the "Doghouse".  Opie only started boasting about himself after JV and Elvis started calling him "just a board op".  Good luck bro.

O&A Party Rock,

its not just  today yo uc an hear it when ever he  speaks. I   like the doghouse   but I  do  liek Ant and jim. The O&A from wnew were great but the 2006 o& a aren't.They are just not funny anymore. From the start of the fight  jv was calm and all and  several times stated he had no prob with them but with management and opie didnt care. He acted like king shit just like howie. I do think that both side were wrong for bringing up personal shit between elvis and  anthonys girl or ant being a alcoholic.

Sounds like it's starting again.

I've been saying for months that it's only a matter of time before O&A do something so stupid that they'll get their butts fired again.  If they don't reign it in, that's exactly where they're headed.  Again.

I remember hearing that O&A (or Jim) saying that they wanted to do a comedy tour in '02, then they did it in '06.

Here is a link the Doghouse Comedy Jam in '01

There will probably be bias in this post, but here is what I can clarify from the arguement if you did download it.

--The poster above beat me to the link. Yes, comedy tours were always there but were never successful until The Dog House did it. Unheard of, 25,000+ sell-out in Pleasenton, California--a good 30 miles south of San Francisco, year after year. Jv went to a club and saw Carlos Mencia and Pablo Francisco and thought it would be cool to get that many people. He made it happened. Now people are running with that idea, as evident by the O and A tour, which was in so many markets, so please don't kid yourselves that O and A put it together.

--If the Dog House was so great, why weren't they in more markets? The station they were on did nothing for them. No backing whatsoever. They were offered Big Boy's position in LA in the late 90s, but turned it down because they did not want to leave their listeners in the Bay Area.

--Also, what you see on Jackass is basically what was ripped off from the Dog House. Same story here. They didn't want to move to LA, so Jackass listened to their show and replicated their stunts. Videos the Dog House put out years before Jackass came out can prove it.

If O and A are that great, and I am not saying their show isn't, why can't they put the station on their back like Howard did? I am not a radio expert or try to play one on this board, but how were ratings in other day parts when Howard signed off? I can't imagine they were that good. If they were, why change from KRock to the Free FM format?

Howard seemed to be so good that he made up for the parts of the station that dragged it down. For O and A to blame the 9-10 hour on the Dog House is unfair. 75% of it is O and A--take blame for that.

Radio is a team game. Even when the Dog House hated their station, they pumped up rest of the day parts and made their station successful. Ashame egos can't be put aside for the betterment of the station.

Sorry to seem like the Dog House apologist...That's my take.
