You obviously never listened to the first months of their XM show.
I'm fully aware of their return via XM, the whole 'assault the media' and all that jazz. That's not relevant. What happens on a broadcast station is. I maintain that unless they gather some self control (which I think is unlikely) they will be canned from the terrestrial stations (again) and go back to their small but loyal following on XM where they will languish in near obscurity until someone gives them a 5th or 6th chance.
You're not getting it.
You are claiming that O&A are going to get fired for their on-air behavior because of their bitchin' and complaining and arguing with other hosts.
If O&A are getting the ratings, and O&A are bringing in the ad money, then they are untouchable if they aren't "team players".
The way the show is structured now, they can save the non-FCC friendly stunts for XM, and do their current events/guests/comedy riffing on Free.
Don't forget - how many times has JV or Elvis come in drunk in less than a year at Free FM? That's a much, much bigger red flag than ANYTHING O&A could do.
O&A got fired because it was a slow news week and CBS management didn't stand up for them and buckled to a guy with a good contact list and nice letterhead. The Catholic CHURCH didn't condemn O&A... the Catholic LEAGUE did. There is a big, big, HUGE difference.
