WSKQ Morning Host Luis Jimenez Leaving Station

Mega's Luis Jimenez is looking for a satellite deal ala Howard Stern and has notified WSKQ of his decision to leave the station at the end of his contract on Decmember 31, 2006. While he would like to remain on regular radio his one year non-compete will limit his ability to sign on with another NY station until 2008.

From what is being discussed Jimenez was asking for a $5M a year deal and the station refused.

Mega 979 is looking at moving their recent addition to afternoons over to morning drive.

This will really shake up Spanish radio in NY.
