I am wondering if anyone knows whatever happened to ABC Radio Networks CE Margaret Bryant.  I haven't heard hide nor hair about her in some time.

She has left broadcasting to indulge in her (former) hobby full-time:

Well dang...pretty much everyone I knew in the DFW radio circuit is no longer there.  Wonder if there are any left?

Another sign that the end is near when someone can make a living doing dog photography.

Another sign that there's life beyond radio - IF you've made enough money to indulge your passions instead of living paycheck-to-paycheck.

PS - The Westminster Dog Show is on TV this week. Check it out, and tell me if those folks can afford to pay serious money for a portrait of their dogs.

There's gold in the puppydog hills... especially in showing.  Consider, I was told (and I believe the source) that one of the major contenders last year - the handler that is - was told by the dog's owner "If you run over $500K, give us a call.  We'll approve it but (husband) will need to know".  I suspect that's a true story.

Late last summer, a show acquaintence of mine was sent to Kiev, to purchase and bring back a Black Russian Terrier.  He was there for ten days, and returned with the dog.  All up, $50 - 60k for that trip wouldn't be out of line.  Another acquaintence is campaigning the dog in this country.  I don't think cost is any object at all.

The point being, if the right dog needs a picture, she can pretty much name her price if she's good at it... and her work looks pretty good.  Nothing wrong with making money doing somehting you like, is there?
