Howie Carr, the new Rodney Dangerfield
« on: April 10, 2007, 10:37:19 PM »

Howie gets pre-empted for the Sox, comes on for a little bit, and gets pre-empted for the Celtics!

Such disrespect for Bulger Boy!

Ha Ha!

hey - maybe Jason is "pre-empting" Howie to punish him for the Towel Head comment?  With Imus & Al
Sharpton getting huge ratings they want all Howie's racially insensitive remarks to be remembered.

Howie's days are numbered. When is his contract up for renewal?

Well after yesterday no more Red Sox pre-emptions in the afternoon but his last half hour may be chopped
off for pre-game show of a 7 pm game--except on Wednesday nights, when WEEI has the Sox.

The Sox are on WRKO except for: weekday afternoons and Wednesday nights

And next year the Celts move to WEEI...only a few games left this year.

Anyone who missed the first two hours of yesterday's show (3 pm: Imus talk; 4 pm Col David Hunt)
can hear them for a limited time on this  podcast:

I cannot WAIT for the next ratings book showing the tumble WRKO is taking now. It'll serve them right, the bad press they'll get.

"It's Jason, Howie.  We apologize for the 30 minutes yesterday between 6 PM and 6:30, we won't do that to you again.  'BZ is going to lend us 30 minutes of a Bruins re-broadcast to stick between the Red Sox and the Celtics so you don't have to be stupid for a half hour.  In fact, if you quit now you won't have to be stupid at all today on the air.  Key phrase, on the air.  (You'll still be stupid signing those books at Stop & Shop in New Hampshire to an audience of your ex-wife's offspring!)

Howie has a condo in Florida to show for the Imus lawsuit settlement...He doesn't have to be stupid, just funny btw. I think Howie was unaware till after 6 pm that the Celts had a game...and that he'd only be on for
45 minutes on 'RKO.

Not only did I buy Howie's book but I just bought the audio download of it, too, for my mp3 player...
ca-CHING! ca-CHING! There's nothing like a hit New York Times bestseller. At least we know it'll sell
more copies than "God's Other Son" by John Donald Imus...

Maybe WTKK can get rid of Imus and put local talk with Michael Graham in there, thus freeing up the 10 am
slot for Dennis Miller (also from Westwood One...)
