A Night for Jan Dean
« on: April 26, 2007, 10:02:08 AM »

Just wanted to post a reminder about the benefit for Jan Dean tonight at Cains.

Doors are going to open around 7pm and pretty much EVERY station in the Tulsa market is going to be involved.  Pretty cool stuff on KOOL this morning where Kevan was playing some of Jans' old bedcheck bits and were actually leading INTO the song he was playing.  Pretty cool stuff...

Hope everyone can get out.. its only $5 at the door.  And it is obviously for a good cause...

Didn't make the event but I did catch the bits on KQLL.  Nice work.

Props to everyone who took part...

Jan was in great spirits and it was an incredible night...
Final tally for Jan... $28,763

It was really special to see so many people that compete on a daily basis come together for one night.  Great time... good people...incredible person.  Please keep Jan in your prayers.

I just saw this on another Tulsa radio and TV board. Cool to have a rundown of what happened. This isn't the whole post. I only posted a portion for copywright's sake.

Comments: Hi Mike! It's been a while since I posted last! Just wanted to say that the wife and I went to the fund raiser for Jan Dean at Cain's and the turnout was GREAT! I think every radio station in Tulsa was there representin' (except KXOJ). When Julie and I left, over 25K had been raised. I haven't heard yet what the final count was.

Got some great pics of Rick Alan West, Mike McCarthy, Charlie Derrick and several others. Saw Bob Cooper there as well. He's looking tanned, relaxed and rested. When Jan came out, the place went nuts!
