If the PAC-12 wanted to syndicate their games to OTA stations, they would have.  They didn't, and probably won't.

RIght now, at least in Phoenix, if you want the PAC-12 network, you must be a Cox subsriber.  Don't hold your breath waiting for the "birds" to work out a deal.

I'm not enough of a footballaholic that I would subscribe to cable or sat just to get the P12 Network.  I might consider subscribing to an OTA version if their prices were reasonable.  Until then I will take whatever they want to show OTA or I'll get the games on *ahem* other services.

Does the pac-12 network have an exclusive deal the the satellites and cable companies? If not there is no reason a sub channel couldn't preempt programming to air the games, unless there is an ncaa thing.

PAC-12 is on Dish as of last week. I'm not sure if it's on DirecTV (for a satellite service that prides itself as "a sports fan's dream"--and as you mentioned, has a near monopoly on TV service in almost every sports bar in town--they should be carrying it).

PAC-12 Network is carried on Cox and Dish, but NOT DirectTV.

I didn't know that Dish worked out a deal.  But Dish has a bad habit of pissing contests with providers.  Right now they are in one with Big Ten Network.  Not good for sports fans or bar owners.  How long does the PAC-12/Dish contract last?

To get into bars, they MUST be with DirecTV.  I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to happen.

Full-screen 16:9 480p is adequate for sports, but not the reduced-size 16:9 picture that both channels are running now..

Doesn't your TV allow you to expand the picture to full-screen 16:9?  Because that's what I do.  Yeah, it's not hi-def, but certainly more than watchable.
