Chicago Sun-Times Robert Feder made note of the following in his column today

News releases >

Listen to DAB digital radio on your iPod

London, 25 April, 2007: Frontier Silicon has teamed up with Roberts Radio to develop a DAB/FM plug-in accessory that allows listeners to tune into their favourite radio stations using an iPod®.  The plug-in, which is the first of its kind, measures just 52.4 x 32.0 x 8.1 mm and is based on Frontier Silicon’s Kino 2 DAB IC. It connects to an iPod, enabling users to listen to either DAB or FM radio or to use it as a convenient remote control to play, pause, fast-forward or rewind music stored on an iPod. Roberts will launch the product in October 2007 at an RRP of £49.99.  It will be widely available through all their electrical retailers - in time for the peak Christmas season.

Anthony Sethill, CEO, Frontier Silicon said; “Our world-class engineering team has designed a technology first – the smallest and lowest-power DAB radio available.  It’s an exciting initiative that will bring a new generation of listeners to DAB radio and greatly increase the penetration of DAB across Europe.”

Leslie Burrage, CEO of Roberts Radio commented “The iPod lets listeners take their music collection with them wherever they go. With this accessory they can now choose to listen to live DAB or FM broadcasts anywhere they take their iPod – a must have for the Christmas present list!”

iPod is a registered trademark of Apple Corp.

I read a few when I first found this site, but I quickly realized the people writing the linked articles are usually about as clueless as the guy linking to them here.
