102.1 in Destin
« on: June 24, 2007, 12:28:34 AM »

Anyone know why 102.1 in Destin is off the air? I picked up some Spanish stations (probably American) and Radio Disney.

The atmosphere was a mess around here yesterday.  Tropo, e-skip, whatever... I don't know what it was but stations were coming and going all over the dial.

I was down in Gulf Shores last week, picked it up a few times the first day down there (the 17th, and I think I heard it on the 18th too) never got it after that. Yet Arrow 95.9 from PCB was blasting in and I was able to record a few hours of it.

I wonder if the spanish stations are from mexico or are they any in the states on 102.1? It's hard to tell.

I'm not a big fan of that kind of music.blah.

It was down again last night. Lord knows what there doing to the transmitter there. Almost every other weekend it goes down. I'm not sure what I heard but it was 5:00 am and heard something about Montgomery. However, according to radio-locator, there is no 102.1 there. (the signal was faint, too)

could have been WQUA in Citronelle AL, I always had interference from them trying to record WWAV in Orange Beach. or it could have been bleed over from Montgomery's WHHY 101.9
