Has anybody interviewed for the show? I would think it would pay decent, what gives?

I think it depends on the group and/or station.   I know some of the smaller stations don't pay very well.  There are also a few personalities making $100k+.   I would bet the starting salary level is around $30k.  The top performers are making the bigger cash.  (and probably deserve it.)  Guys like Erling, Phil & Brent, etc... If the morning guy also doubles as the PD, they can expect even more than average.

Morning drive is very competitive and it takes a lot of work and dedication to make it work.  Several have tried, but few have knocked it out of the park.   Some of the current batch have potential to do well.  KVOO, KWEN, KRAV, KFAQ, KRMG and of course KMOD.  Those shows have the most potential at this point.  The show on KTBT could eventually be a top player especially 18-34.

I know a few people that have worked for Renda.  They've all said that the company DOES NOT pay very well.  I don't expect that K-HITS is going to be paying more than about $30,000 for this position, based on what those that I know have told me.

The only way that Tony pays worth a damn anywhere is when he's scared into paying, and then only with reluctance.  If someone else tries to steal away his talent and he thinks he needs him he'll many times throw a bit more out hoping that talent doesn't bail out on him.  Many times he gets burned because the talent has already signed and left before he wakes up.  He's and his company is REACTIVE opposed to PROACTIVE.  Shopping it is the only way I've seen anyone get any real bucks out of him.
