For me personally, I would love a full blown 100 percent flame throwing CHR.  I haven't done a shift at Cat Country in over a year and I'll hand in my keycard for that...lol

WEEX: More local sports and a wrestling show would be good ... the same goes with the other sports station at 1470. i think wrestling is a huge market untouched in this area for a good talk show. we'll see if one of these two competitors catches on first.

Well, you have this problem. Professional wrestling isn't a sport. Vince McMahon himself finally came off that bandwagon a number of years ago and admitted it's "entertainment". You could make the argument that it appeals to a lot of men, so putting it on a sports station would hit the right audience, but from a station stand point, you would turn off a lot of real sports fans that want to hear sports talk.

Let's get back on point here...

B104 surprisingly didn't take a hit after Matthews left.  Their numbers have gone up

That actually makes sense...everybody IN radio wants to always put a high value on the talent. Often, we're the only ones who really care when someone's let go.

Sadly, on-air folk aren't worth what they once were to the radio listener...that's why there always will be a long list of very talented, ex-personalities talking about a set of on-air's in a market that really don't belong.

i think the part that all of u are missing when it comes to personalities is thier "value" from an advertising perspective.. for example.. bearman and keith are never number one in the ratings.. but i bet u if they left zzo's ad revenue would shrink considerably. and get me if i'm wrong.. isn't that what the game is truly all about??  now if u wanna say b104's numbers didn't shrink or even went up after ken matthews left i would ask doesn't everyone's after someone leaves caus people always wanna check out the new guy?? but i would bet lunch for a month that b104's ad revenues are down considerably caus that man was a marketing machine. numbers for ratings are great.. but when u have an institution that is a consistent performer i would guess that would be far better a value to the station.

on another note though.. i still can't beleive so much is being said about a small second hand radio station like wgpa.. jolly joe must be rolling over in his grave... oh wait.. he's still got one leg out lol.

Huhwow!I didn't realize that 100.7 as WFMZ had so many fans.  I guess ya'll are missing your elevator music.  100% automation 24/7.
