LOOKING FOR MAINE RADIO LPS
« on: July 07, 2008, 05:27:15 PM »

Hey all - I have a Web site dedicated to radio station LPs, http://www.radiouseonly.com

Unfortunately, I don't have any LPs from Maine radio stations.

Can someone tell me if there were any of these albums issued by radio stations - and
if anyone has one, please let me know - Maine needs to be represented!

Thanks in advance!

WJZP 105.1 in Portland is the only one I can think about

Maine just doesn't have enough of a population (and big cities) to have very many LP's

Somewhere out there, there is an entire Album from Dick Stacey's Country Jamborie, recorded at Dick Stacey's Brewer Motel, I think TV was involved with that one... I have a couple of Copies of "Rappin' 'Bout Maine" by Captain Jack, and the Kiss Steady Rock Crew from Kiss 94.5, B/W I Miss You Maine (Christmas In Chicago) by one of my current bosses Mark Osborne. I know that there was a single from one of the Portland sticks that that was the "Maine Christmas Song" but I don't know which one. Off the top of my head that is all I can think of. I do have a copy somewhere of the "Maine Stein Song" on 45, but I think that was done through UMO. You might talk to Mike Elliot from WKSQ, as I think he may have a copy of "Rock Me Jerry Lewis" though that was from outside the state of Maine, so it may help one of your other states. I am a vinyl nut, so I love what your doing.

Although it's on CD, a few years back, I had a minor hand in helping Mike & Mike (I recorded the cheering and chanting for their live track myself) when they release "Meet The Micheals" I bet the Mikes could dig up a copy of that one too.

Andy - I also put 45s on the site too (please see the singles page on the site).  I would love to have pictures and info of your 45s.  Drop me a PM, or contact me through the site (where you can send the jpgs) - thank you in advance!

I know that I have a 1984 WBLM Blimpville Beat EP around, if that is of any use...
