Baseball teams around the country are buying into cable channels.  MASN down in DC, YES and SNY in NYC.

Also, I don't think the government would care (anti-trust) if Comcast owned FSN-NE and NESN.  LA has FSN and FSN-prime ticket.  Maybe Comcast could operate NESN for the Sox and Bruins the way Comcast runs SNY for the Mets in NYC.  That is just like the CSNs around the country.
In this past Friday's globe it was reported that the Yankees are shopping YES Network to see if someone will pay them a kings ransom for it. Hey, if you feel as if the value has peeked, why not sell now?

besides , with comcast sports net about to take over the soon to be put to sleep FSN NE  seems likely that a battle could come for the rights to Red Sox and Bruins games

With the Red Sox and Bruins both owning a piece of NESN, even Comcast would have a tough time getting the rights to either team unless of course they purchased NESN or the Red Sox or both. Never say never.

I see Comcast has the domain www.csnnewengland.com. Now when is FSN New England going to be CSN New England? I would say it will be before the Celtics start playing basketball.

I would say that scenario is prettty likely. Why not take advantage of the beginning of a hot Celtics season to launch the new brand. I hear that it will most likely be branded as Comcast Sports Net. CSN has been tried in other markets and gone back to the full Comcast Sports Net name.

With FSN-NE being no more, who, if anyone, will carry Pac-10 football and basketball games and ACC hoops games (not BC-related)?

I have the comcast sports package so I will still get the regional fox college games, but for those who do not have this package...?
