I do a Love Song request and dedication show on the weekends and fill-in when needed.
We always get a lost of requests to play something "special" for someone whose lost a loved one recently. Got any ideas? Huh

Wow I know that feeling since I lost my grandmother last year! I think Eric Clapton's "Tears In Heaven" is one of the best ones. Some other ones are "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan, if it's a wife or girlfriend then "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt, "Home" by Michael Buble, "Midnight Reflections" by Les Sabler, "Only Time" by Enya, "Careless Whisper" by Wham!, Norah Jones "Shoot The Moon", and Vanessa Williams's "Save The Best For Last" - very nice songs.

Of course there are other ones like Rod Stewart's "Rhythm Of My Heart" too and even old classics like Frank Sinatra's "I Did It My Way." What station do you host your show on?

I'll be there from escape club is PERFECT in that situation. One sweet day from mariah carey and boys to men, its so hard to say goodbye to yesterday boys to men. Because you loved me celine dion. ANYTHING off the Dianna Princess of Wales cd set they put out 10 years ago. But the first one is my favorite for the loss of a loved one. It was a minor hit in the late 80's.  its a song about looking down from above and being with the loved one. great tune

I Will Remember You - Sarah McLachlan. I prefer the studio version to the live one, the studio version sounds more heartfelt.

I Will Remember You - Amy Grant. I listened to this song the night my own grandmother died over two years ago. It's a different song from Sarah McLachlan's but no less powerful.

This Used To Be My Playground - Madonna.  Maybe also I'll Remember.

To Where You Are - Josh Groban.

If you're not averse to throwing in some country, something like When I Get Where I'm Going by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton might be good too.

Since it's AC, you can probably get by with playing "Homesick" or "I Can Only Imagine" by MercyMe.
