WJJZ sounding good
« on: September 15, 2007, 11:23:48 AM »

i have to say i am not a fan of the format but as musical wallpaper to set the mood the new WJJZ really does sound a lot better than its former sound on 106.1. i am hearing more instrumentals less r&b vocals even some new agey sounding stuff kinda like what WJJZ sounded like in the late 90s its very no frills. no fancy liners ... some of them are a dry deep-voiced guy. sometimes the station sounds straight automated like on sat nights and other off times but on the whole i think its serving its purpose. i see they are making tiny (very tiny) strides in the ratings. a couple thousand more here. a couple more thousand there. but strides nonetheless.

Get this: In the latest PPM, WJJZ was the biggest cume gainer of all the stations. Now how's THAT for tiny?

I agree. The new station really seems a lot stronger than the old WJJZ, and in the end, I'm glad that Clear Channel gave it up. The music choices on the new station are better, and it's pleasant to have in the background.
