Brandon,  Im predicting we will have the second best AM signal in town, beat only by the 50 KW full timer.  Time will tell.  SHould have that first test signal in a week, folowed by program test as soon as the Feds allow.

Based on my 2005 visit to Vegas, I would say there is a HUGE Hispanic population. Someone out there, I am sure, has the ethnic breakdown of the city. A lot of Hispanics do like sports, moreover baseball. Add that to the NFL's push for Hispanic awareness in football, and I feel "ESPN Deportes" will do rather well. Will this turn into ratings success? Highly doubtful. BUT... will it sustain enough of a revenue flow? You bet!!! Remember: radio is a business, it's always revenue over ratings.

Bill, will they also carry Beisbol en Espanol, perhaps the Dodgers?

There is one sport Spanish speaking Hispanics like in the southwest... soccer. Baseball is played in a very small part of Mexico, and is a ratings killer. American football has about as much appeal to Spanish speaking Hispanic as water skiing does to Eskimos. But, they can probably make some money from gringo advertisers who don't know this.

KWWN is on testing with an open carrier. Signal sounds good, not alot of static in the background. I noticed while tuning down from 1140 to 720.

Thanks for the report Brandon.  Where were you and what time/day.  We have been doing only the most basic of tech tests at 1 KW most of the time with occasional tests of the 20 KW system but mostly the night pattern at half the normal night power for adjustments.  Expect more tests in the next couple of weeks.   Any one who would like to comment on the signal when they hear it, please e-mail me at loteng@lvradio.com.  BIll C. the CHief E.

It was Thursday around noon. I was listening from home in Spring Valley. It was interesting to hear the transmitter power up and down, making all kinds of wierd noises come from my speakers.
